Esperanza (Hope)

Dear Brother,
I hope that you are well. The other day, when I ran into you at the buss stop, you said that you were in a drug program and had been off crack for two months now. This is good to hear, and I’m happy that you are taking steps to recuperate your self. Aunt V is doesn’t believe it, and she says that she is finished with you, and wants nothing to do with you. Mother prays for your well being, as do I, but she doesn’t seem to believe what you say is true.
I can’t say that I believe one way or another…. I have only hope and love for you. So take care of yourself, and I hope the next time I see you things will have improved.

I think he’s speaking the truth. I wish he’s speaking the truth. I can’t blame people for not believing him, it’s difficult but I can only hope he comes out true.
if he was my brother, i’d believe him even if deep down i doubt him, because i’d want to believe in the best of him. i hope you’re doing okay in life now…

I can’t imagine how hard it would be to get out of an addiction. People tend to be overjudgmental, but while it is true that they started it with their own decisions, after it has caught you it is very hard to get out, no matter how much you want it.
Now how much harder is to have to fight alone. He’s lucky to have your support and love, no matter what happens.
